So.....how goes it?
It has been a while since I have posted. Life, as you know, has a way of running "all ahead full". My wife and I have been adjusting to Micah's seizure incident pretty well. I admit it seems kind of surreal. I'm hoping and praying that he never has another one again and this become just another story told around the table as he gets older. He is so smart and alert. He explores the world around him with wide eyed wonder and innocence. He is so precious. I am very thankful that he has no idea that he has anything to worry about. I'm so glad that the worry burden can be fully carried by Jozlin and I. He is a Parker so he will find a way to draw strength from any and all issues he will inevitably run into in life. We may get knocked down but we always get back up.
On a lighter note....4 day weekend coming up. I'll be celebrating Jozlin's coronation as Birthday Queen on Sunday. We will par-tay. Woot! :D

They are coming.....
This is a repost I stole, err, "borrowed" from someone else's blog. I thought it was pretty good. Hope you enjoy ;)
"The news says that we should stay indoors. Those of use who are still alive know that staying indoors and waiting, is the last thing that we should do. I can still hear my wife’s screams as they dragged her away. They came through the backyard by the hundreds. Their bodies were moving, but their eyes were dead. Maybe they were human once, but not now. Not anymore.
In the first few weeks, we kept them back with firepower. But the bullets always go faster than you think they will. We’ve lost more than half of our group and panic is beginning to take hold. We’re just about out of food too, so it won’t be long before we can add starvation to our list of problems. Once this was a nice, suburban neighborhood. Now it’s a living hell without hope.
Well, maybe there is one hope. This morning, they attacked again. At first there were only a few of them, but later came more. With no guns or other weaponry, I was doomed. Then something amazing happened. One of those mindless things died! But why? How? What had killed it? That’s when I noticed the pea pods that my wife had planted last month. They were somehow firing peas toward the back of my yard. But the pods could only fire in a straight line! I quickly got to work, planting pea pods across my yard. Soon I had five of them lined up.
I can’t really explain it, but the sunflowers were helping me. Now, everything looks like it just might be okay. I think we might actually… wait… oh dear God help us! One of them has a traffic cone on its head! You monsters! Have you no honour!?"

meh...
I find myself fascinated with playing with Linux. Specifically Ubuntu 10. I don't know why but I have fun trying to get an OS to do whatever I want it to even though Windows can already do it without any effert on my part. Does that make me a geek? Meh. Yeah, ok I admit.
I enjoy the challenge even though I can't see a benefit to figuring this thing out. Who knows ;) maybe I'll make the switch completely. Until then I'll continue to tinker with my Linux box and unravel it's many secrets. If anyone is interested in downloading a copy to try visit: http://www.ubuntu.com/
You can copy the program to a CD and run a "live" copy. That means that you can boot it up and use it without installing it or changing any of your computer files.

If you truly love me.....
I've had the question asked of me lately if I believe that you have the pray the "sinner prayer" to be saved. What if someone lives the life that Jesus taught us to live but never calls Jesus by name? Will that someone go to hell out of ignorance? That is a heavy and difficult question to answer. I can't claim to know the answer, because I don't know the answer. What I do know is that God is a loving God and that He wants the very best for us. I read a passage this morning in John that helped me with the above question.
The passage reads: "Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them...Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them." John 14:21,23
It seems to me that if we truly love Jesus we will obey His teachings. That is to say, live a life the way Jesus taught us to live. It doesn't mention the "sinner's prayer" in this passage but it does contain a promise of God. It promises that God will "make His home with us" if we truly live by His commands. I still believe that we who have been told must choose to follow Jesus and call upon His name, but if we had never been told?
There is so much that is far above my head when it comes to God and His infinite, divine grace. The more I learn, the more I realize that I have so much more to figure out. It's a good thing that seeking God is so fulfilling ;)

umm...hello?
I've been considering starting a blog for a while. My wife has encouraged me to publish my random thoughts and feelings on the world wide web for peoples to read. Well why not? I think I'll feel much more comfortable having a one way conversation with anyone who may stumble upon my blog. This just might be fun :)
